This department is responsible for the provision of leisure, sporting and general recreational services and facilities for the young and old at various locations throughout the city. Keep fit at any of the 32 city playgrounds and 33 children's playgrounds. Weddings and Parties use any of our 30 Reception halls.

Your Little Kids may attend our 19 Pre-Schools or play on see-saws, swings, mat slides and climbing structures at the Children's parks.

In addition to the above there are 52 community centres.

Free general recreational facilities in playgrounds and community centres include

• Television : Watch your favorite programmes
• Table games : Draughts, Carom, Table Tennis
• Team Sports : Soccer, Rugger, Cricket, Net-ball, Volley-ball, Elle, Badminton and Athletics
• Individual Body Sports : Wrestling, Weight-lifting, body building, gymnastics
• Musical: Dancing, music and band
• For the reading public the Community Centres provide news-papers, magazines and other reading materials.
